Crashed Truck Still “Stuck” In Hamilton Parish

February 22, 2017 | 15 Comments

After crashing over an embankment last Friday, the truck remains in the same position this afternoon [Feb 22], partially submerged in the water in the Abbot’s Crescent, Hamilton parish area.

The truck crashed quite a distance over the embankment, with the police previously confirming that 41-year-old man was attempting to start the truck when it rolled down a driveway and crashed over.

At the time of the incident, in which no one was injured, personnel were heard discussing the challenges with removing the vehicle from its unusual position.

It's already a reef! Cost to remove/salvage exceeds the value.

Did they remove the oil and fuel yet before it poisoned the reef and ocean? I hope so, but I am assuming nobody has thought of it or done it.

It will be a costly project to remove it. If the owner is unable to for whatever reason. Govt should do it. Common sense has to prevails somewhere. It is our island and marine life.

I don't think government will pay for that. And if they are forcing him to remove it and pay for it they should force everyone who has a boat on the rocks or sunk to get their boat removed and charge them.

It's not as simple as giving a price, which sucks.
